Ellen K.

Ellen is a junior at Decatur High School in Georgia. She was selected for the Georgia Governor's Honors Program -- a month-long summer camp (one of 19 admitted students in GA). She is particularly proud of her contributions to research run by Emory University team helping improve pregnancy outcomes in Guatemala. She took and audited over 10 college and graduate courses in math and CS. Ellen takes pride in being a "full-stack researcher" -- from concept to algorithm design to low-level implementation. She studied hacking and wrote a web server in x86 assembly. For the future she hopes to attend a top CS program and continue for PhD. She plans to do research in CS and medicine with the goal of improving access to healthcare for all.
