Alekhya Buragadda is a current senior in South Fayette High School whose dedication to the STEM field is expansive, bettering not only western Pennsylvania but also the global community as a whole. Alekhya is the founder and president of Women Welfare, a nonprofit dedicated to developing the skills of women across the globe through access to healthcare and education. The organization has helped over 200 women continue their education, while also providing them access to computer labs to encourage them to choose STEM-related fields. Moreover, Alekhya enjoys advancing her own knowledge of STEM through her involvement in the healthcare field. Specifically, she is interested in the neuroscience field as evident from her research on Deep Learning for Neuroimaging, specifically focusing on functional magnetic resonance imaging and electroencephalography. Her research has been published nationally in the RMS and IYNA Journals, and even in her own, self-written book.
