AiC Members in the News (July 2020)

• In this Cyberweek.org feature, five AiC Community members who graduated from high school, college, or graduate school this spring talk about how COVID-19 impacted their last months of school, and they share what the experience has taught them about staying focused on your dreams — no matter what. 
• “I just try to go for it, and I try to make a connection.” // AiC Community Member Gia Mar Ramos was featured as Shine Global’s Activist of the Week. In this video interview, learn how Gia first got into robotics and how her experiences in AiC inspired her to start her own tech program for Puerto Rican girls, Girl Innovation.
• AiC Community Member Jessica Young started the organization STEMpower as a way to introduce preschool and elementary students to STEM topics through workshops with hands-on activities and discussion. In this article, find out how the COVID pandemic led her to explore new ways to reach even more kids.

July Shoutouts

As school districts move to online celebrations for graduations, honor rolls, and even sports seasons, AiC Community members have been recognized by their local communities for their achievements in technology. This month, we spotted Maya Maciel-Seidman, Allie Smith, and Courtney Flohr. Congratulations!
