Tesca Fitzgerald
Tesca Fitzgerald has always been intrigued by Artificial Intelligence and the ways humans and robots interact with one another. As a high school student active in robotics competitions, she noticed that many individuals wanted to join a robotics team, while many teams were looking for new members. This inspired her to develop a website to match prospective members with teams that fit their interests. Today, Tesca is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University, where she works on enabling robots to assess and communicate their ability to complete tasks in new situations. She is currently working on the SUCCESS MURI project, which is a multi-university initiative that’s developing new techniques to enable robots and other forms of AI to autonomously assess and report on their own system proficiency.
