2020 Aspirations in Computing Virtual Award Event
The National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) is excited to present the first-ever award event for ALL 2020 Award for Aspirations in Computing (AiC) recipients. We at NCWIT recognize what a difficult and uncertain time this is for everyone, but especially for students. Together with some help from influential professionals in tech, sponsors, and former award recipients, NCWIT is thrilled to honor our award recipients’ accomplishments and engage in inspiring conversations with the AiC Community.
Join Us on Saturday, May 30 from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. MDT
We will hear from guest speakers and a panel of AiC Community members as part of a celebration to recognize the 2020 award recipients.
Featuring a Keynote Presentation by Adafruit Founder Limor Fried
Adafruit, a 100 percent woman-owned company, was founded in 2005 by MIT hacker and engineer, Limor "Ladyada" Fried. Her goal was to create the best place online for learning electronics and the best designed products for makers of all ages and skill levels. Adafruit has grown to more than 100 employees in the heart of NYC with a 50,000+ sq ft. factory. Adafruit has expanded offerings to include tools, equipment, and electronics that Limor personally selects, tests, and approves before going into the Adafruit store. In 2011, Limor Fried was the first female engineer to appear on the cover of Wired magazine.
