Vidya S.

Vidya is first year PhD student at the University of Washington in the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science and Engineering. She is broadly interested in leveraging artificial intelligence and ubiquitous technologies in medical and environmental sustainability applications. Specifically, she is excited about resource-constrained computing and edge-to-cloud computing and their applications in wearable and monitoring devices. She is also interested in privacy-preserving technologies. Vidya obtained a B.S.E. in Computer Engineering at the University of Michigan, where she discovered her interest in embedded systems and machine learning. Vidya has worked on both frontend and backend systems through internships at Ford Motor Company and Sambanova Systems. She is passionate about teaching, having been an undergraduate teaching assistant for five semesters across discrete mathematics, machine learning, and digital logic and design courses. Vidya plans to pursue a research-based career after graduation.
