Troy is an aspiring Computer Scientist, Astronaut and a senior at Odyssey Charter High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. She is in the top 1% of her graduating class and spends her time creating websites, programming, being a peer tutor, and teaching other young women to code and about the field of engineering. She is also passionate about innovation, physics, and space exploration. In 2018, she also initiated an AspireIT organization “STEM-IT LV,” an after school program focused on teaching young underrepresented girls how to program and do robotics and plant a seed of innovation and imagination in today’s generation of future women in STEM. In college, she plans to study Computer Science and Aerospace Engineering, where she hopes to apply her knowledge of computer science and passion for problem-solving and innovation to a career working at companies like Google, Disney Imagineering, NASA, and SpaceX. She also plans to continue her community outreach by inspiring others to pursue a career in STEM and giving them hope for a brighter tomorrow. Troy also sees herself going to space and paving the way for other women in the space industry while doing scientific and engineering research in space to help further advance science and humanity. While one of her many dreams is to be one of the first humans to step foot on Mars. Aside from her STEM interests, Troy enjoys traveling, reading, singing in her school's choir, and collecting space pins and vinyl. Troy aspires to one day create software and hardware that will not only enhance the human-computer interaction but become a role model to spark imagination and innovation in others.
