Tara is a senior who attends an early college High School. She will be graduating High School with her Associates Degree from Weber State University. Tara has been a part of a Girl Scout robotics team for 8 years. Being a part of this team has taught many things including programming, Computer Animated Design, and being adept at 3D Printing. Tara’s passions lie with STEM and working with younger kids, particularly girls. One way she has done this is by creating a program called Girls-FIRST. In doing so she has created and presented programs and outreaches for girls across the state of Utah. These activities have included teaching girls of all ages about robotics, programming, circuits, the engineering process, and teamwork. The Girls-FIRST program has reached more than 2900 girls to date. While in High School Tara has taken college level Computer Science and Engineering courses that specialize in Computer Animation, Video Game Design, Computer Animated Design, and the Engineering Process. Tara intends to attend Weber State University with a double major in Math Education and Geography with a technical emphasis.
