Sophie is a Senior at her high school. Top of her class, Sophie has taken the highest level computer courses offered at her school and enjoys volunteering at her local library's coding camps and day events as well as a summer school lego robotics course. When she is not volunteering or studying you can find Sophie at her IT Apprentice job working for her city government or at her high school's own computer club where she resides as president and founder organizing trips to local elementary schools for the Hour of Code and collection of old computer parts for members interested in the hardware aspect. This past year Sophie's Zero Robotics team made it to the Finals and went to MIT for the competition placing tenth in the world out of the 214 starting teams from 17 countries. She loved the collaborative effort and challenge of the project and feels so grateful to have been a part of it. The opportunity has made her even more excited for her future journey at a four-year university and beyond. She dreams to one day be on the management staff of a large IT company traveling and communicating with people from all over the world to bring the best technologies to those who deserve it, everyone. A huge thank you to NCWIT Aspirations for helping inspire young women like herself!
