Robert Getka grew up on a dairy farm in southern Wisconsin, the second of nine children. He graduated from Big Foot High School and then received his diploma from Rockford College in 1986 with a dual degree in math and computer science, along with minors in education and business administration. Robert completed his Masters degree in Instructional Technologies at the University of South Florida, where he was also a member of Phi Kappa Phi. Robert now teaches the AP Computer Science course at Parker High School and volunteers to grade the AP exams each year. He is also involved in their baseball team, and also coaches little league. Robert and his wife Susan have three children.
