Randall Deich is the STEM Coordinator at Lauderhill 6-12, a Title 1 school that serves over 850 middle and high school students in Lauderhill, Florida. Recognizing the need to prepare students for a competitive job market in a high-tech industry Randall bridged the South Florida community to the students. The partnerships with American Express, Oracle Technologies, Collective Ventures, and local businesses provides a setting that addresses employable skills while enriching the competitive and cooperative atmosphere to thrive in a 21st century career. In less than four years Randall has cultivated a learning environment where the students have been recognized at Computer Science events at national, regional, and local levels. During Randall’s tenure at Lauderhill 6-12 his students received Loft Fellowships, earned paid employment opportunities, CS internships, and successfully competed in the NAACP's Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics event.
