Monica is a senior at Amos Alonzo Stagg High School in Palos Hills, Illinois. She was first introduced to the world of programming when she stumbled upon a block code the summer of freshman year. Since then, she has immersed herself in the field of computing through participating in organizations such as Girls Who Code, Kode with Klossy, and Technovation Challenge. Her favorite software-related experience was the Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program at JPMorgan Chase in Chicago, where she worked with a team of her fellow SIP friends to create a self-esteem boosting app called EsteemBeam. Currently, she is learning Java as part of her AP Computer Science class and has been organizing outreach for girls in STEM in her community. Recently, she organized Explore Engineering Conference - an engineering conference at her school which was aimed to provide students the opportunity to explore the realm of engineering alongside the idea of empowering the next generation of leaders in STEM. Chances are you will spot her roaming around across the web, but when she is not glued to her computer, you will most likely spot her running or drinking Boba Tea.
