Meena is a junior at Plano East Senior High school pursuing the IB diploma Program. She is very interested in STEM research, learns computer science both in and outside of school, and is very involved with her school's computer science club. She has received multiple awards including Grand Prize at the International Genius Olympiad, a special award from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and recognition from the Texas Junior Academy of Sciences for her research in computing, which involves developing an IOT system for reducing weather-related vehicle accidents. During the summer of 2016, she was one of four selected to intern/work at a global IT consulting company, Ciber Inc. During the internship, she worked on a business case in which she was to optimize structural models of companies and produce innovative solutions on how they could improve integration of the Operations and Development IT sectors within large enterprises using methodologies such as DevOps. After completion, she took the initiative to meet with the CEO of JCPenney (one of the companies she had studied), Marvin Ellison, who then specially invited her to present her case at JCPenney’s headquarters. Meena is also a local teacher for the National Girls Who Code Club. She plans to pursue an Engineering degree and is particularly interested, at this point, in Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Computational Math. In her spare time, Meena likes to compete and grow as a pianist, Indian classical dancer, and Indian classical/Western classical singer.
