Lisa Besso is a math and computer science teacher at a rural high school in VT. She began her career in Electrical Engineering, but soon determined that teaching was the path for her. She is a master teacher with the Beauty and Joy of Computing (bjc) curriculum, and has been teaching that curriculum for 4 years. She has introduced over 70 teachers to the bjc curriculum and is passionate about encouraging young people, and people who teach young people, to explore computer science. She recently moved to a 12 acre plot of land with a barn and a pond and a big garden, and is excited to learn about gardening after the long winter.
