Lauren is a senior at Mead High School. She participates in the Running Start Program which allows her to take college courses at Eastern Washington University to satisfy her high school credits and get college credits. She has maintained a 4.0 at both Mead and EWU. During her Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior years of high school, Lauren worked on the Congressional Gold Medal Award. She completed 400 hours of volunteer work, 200 hours of personal development, and 200 hours of physical activity. She also completed a week-long cultural exploration in England. In the summer of 2018, Lauren traveled to Washington D.C. to receive her award. In 2019 Lauren plans on attending a four year college and majoring in computer science and possibly a minor in elementary education. While at college she intends to immerse herself in the college community: joining clubs and utilizing the recreation center. At some point, Lauren would like to become part of a research project, with a professor or fellow students. Lauren looks forward to the future and the opportunities it will hold.
