Lauren Dowdell is a high schooler from Kansas who studies computer programming/hardware, video game design, and robotics. She teaches younger girls her knowledge as a leader and mentor in her organization Kansas City STEMinists and KCWIT's Coding & Cupcakes. Additionally, she has been a member of Girls Who Code for four years. In her future, she would love to create an invention to help solve problems in some way; such as a robot or software that could help people in need. She also has a passion for entertainment. Currently, she is working on short video games to apply and practice her programming and self-taught artistic skills. She hopes to make a longer, story-based game someday. In her free time, Lauren also studies animation, film, general art, and graphic design. Finally, she is not sure what she will be doing after high school, but does plan to go to college. Lauren is considering going to the Johnson County Community College (JCCC), and then on to a four-year college afterward.
