As a beginning teacher at Whitewater High School in 1993, I taught a single section each of two semester courses: Programming I in QBasic and Programming II in Pascal. Since then, I have developed a full-scale computer science program for Whitewater students with 11 offerings including an overview Computer Concepts course, Programming I in Visual Basic, Programming II using Java for Android Apps, AP Computer Science A, Web Design using JavaScript and PHP, Game Design, Microcontroller Programming with Arduino, Project Lead the Way Digital Electronics, two years of the Cisco Networking Academy, and an independent Senior Project Studio. Additionally, two seniors and I founded FIRST Robotics Team Ferradermis #6574 in the fall of 2016, and my students enjoy competing annually in the programming contests at MSOE and Marquette. As a member of CSTA, I greatly enjoy attending conferences and learning all that I can about computer science topics.
