Science and technology have always been Katelyn's passions, and she loves to pursue them, both in the classroom and in her community. In high school, Katelyn was a member of the Business Professionals of America team, where she competed in Extemporaneous Speech and Network Design at the state and national levels. Katelyn also used her love of computers to achieve an A+ Computer Certification during her sophomore year. Katelyn also served as the Communications Leader for the Natick High Lemelson-MIT InvenTeam. Her team developed a submersible search and rescue ROV that aids the regional fire department dive team on their rescue missions. Katelyn also loves to share her passions for science and technology with her community. In her free time, Katelyn works as a tutor, and over the summer, she was a counselor for a local robotics camp for middle school students. Katelyn currently attends the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is majoring in bioengineering. She remains actively involved in outreach with the Society of Women Engineers and Lemelson-MIT InvenTeams Initiative
