Katie Rahn is a junior at the Academies of Loudoun in Leesburg, Virginia where she attends the Academy of Engineering and Technology on alternating days. She is president of the newly chartered Academies of Loudoun Computer Science Honor Society through CodeVA. Katie is studying Machine Learning and web design in her computer science and information technology classes. She is also the lead student organizer of the first hackathon in Loudoun County. In addition to her STEM studies, Katie is an active member in her Positive Experiences in Educational Relationships (PEER) organization where she raises awareness for mental health through projects and campaigns in her school. While she is not in school, Katie enjoys exploring the National Parks with her family and playing with her yellow lab, Junior. Katie is looking forward to studying computer science and cybersecurity in college.
