As a sophomore in high school, Justina was introduced to computer science in the newly released AP Computer Science Principles course. Through this class, she has learned a great deal about computer programming and the overall study of computer science. AP Computer Science Principles taught her about the JavaScript programming language, and she was able to create several successful web applications both in her free time and for the AP exam in May 2017. Justina is currently working on an progressive web app with the CODE team at her school to replace the school's announcement system. She has also taught both middle school and high school students HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as part of a “code camp” her team was hosting. In addition, she published her own iOS app on the App Store, called Moodday, which is intended to help track emotional patterns and to better one’s mental well-being. Aside from her passion for computer programming, Justina has a passion for both music and art. She is familiar with graphic design and enjoys drawing both digitally and on paper. In addition, Justina has completed Level 10 piano and enjoys playing several musical instruments in her free time. She is also active physically, as she has been a part of the swim team for the past 2 years. Moreover, Justina is an active member in Red Cross, Rotary Interact, FBLA, and she cofounded the Salvation Army club. She enjoys volunteering in her free time, especially at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, where she is a patient transport volunteer. In the future, Justina wants to major in Computer Programming, and she plans to pursue a career in the computer science or artificial intelligence field.
