Grace comes from a small school in rural Texas with little resources. Her freshman year summer she accidentally got into the Canada/USA Mathcamp and got her first taste of Computer Science. She was determined to spread math and science awareness in my school community and as President of Math/Science Club, helped initiate my school's Robotics Club as well as start the Mu Alpha Theta. Winning the NCWIT award was definitely a turning point for me, as it helped me gain an intern position at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Her research there won her the Intel STS Semifinalist award. The following summer she interned at the Weizmann Institute of Science as one of 19 Americans chosen for the International Summer Science Institute. At Harvard, she interned at Microsoft Bing and majored in Applied Math with a focus in CS and Statistics. She loves data science and her interests were recognized by the Palantir Scholarship for Women in Tech. She's also a 20 under 20 Thiel Fellow running her own machine learning startup. Thanks to NCWIT for the amazing experiences and continuing support for our tech community!
