After teaching literature for more than a decade, David Herring transitioned to teaching computer science at the public college preparatory University High School in Tucson, Arizona. In the past several years he has grown the program from having two classes and fifty students, to a thriving program with five sections of two different AP courses with over 140 students and a waiting list. Students at the school also have the opportunity to participate in VEX Robotics, Girls Who Code, and Future Business Leaders of America, which Mr. Herring sponsors.
