Carrie first got into engineering when her grandfather taught her how to weld at the age of 10. She participated in a FIRST Robotics team that competed at the national level. She helped program a robot to follow commands from a remote as well as autonomous programs. She took an online programming course her sophomore year. A computer science course was added the following school year because her interest in the course convinced the teachers to implement a class for everyone. She wants more people to have the chance to get into computer science and really love it. After high school, Carrie has been accepted to UW-Platteville to major in mechanical engineering and double-minor in computer science and business. She aspires to join a computer forensics team some day or to become head of her own business.
