I have my B.A. in Mathematics from Fordham University and my M.A. in Mathematics Secondary Education from Columbia University. I have been teaching mathematics for 20 years. A few years ago, at the encouragement of my chairperson, Lisa Pellegrino, I began teaching AP Computer Science Principles. Like many females in this field, I was intimidated at first. I had not studied programming in years. But, my chairperson had faith in me. I took a few on-line courses to refresh my memory and worked closely with my chairperson. This is my third year in AP CSP and I love it! I have some very strong female students in my course this year. I am hoping to awaken a passion for programming in each of them!
