Ariana Flewelling is a Staff Development Specialist for the Innovation and Learner Engagement division at Riverside Unified School District (RUSD). In short, she is an edtech implementation coach/TOSA for K-12 teachers. She has earned a Masters of Educational Technology degree from Boise State University. Ariana is also a Google Educator Level (1 & 2) and Google for Education Certified Trainer and Innovator. In RUSD Ariana is the district liaison with Girls Who Code. Over the past two years, Ariana has helped establish 7 Girls Who Code clubs across the district to empower middle and high school students to explore computer science. Through her work, she has helped over 100 students explore college and career options with computer science. Ariana is also a Raspberry Pi Certified Educator and considers herself a digital maker. She has helped teachers establish makerspaces and integrate Raspberry Pis. Her latest project is integrating Raspberry Pis into after-school coding programs to empower students to interact with physical computing in addition to coding. This year she is working to help establish the first Riverside Pi Jam to bring together people of all ages to learn and celebrate physical computing and digital making. Ariana has also worked with technology services and stakeholders to being the process of ensuring all apps, websites and services are student data privacy compliant. Currently, she is working with departments to inventory the current status of services in the district. Ariana is also working with others in the region to help them begin the process in their own district. Outside of work, Ariana is an active member of CUE and CUE Rockstar presenter, former Inland Area Affiliate President, ISTE and the BreakoutEDU community. She also presents with EdTechTeam at Google Certification Bootcamps, and Summits.
