Bio

Ariana is a student at the Specialized School of Science, Mathematics, and Technology (CIMATEC) in Caguas. She believes that technology is what has been moving the world from the start, that is why she is so fond of technology and science. She has such a passion for it that she has participated in various summer programs like BREP, STEMpresarial, NYLF Med and Ladies Can Code where she has developed skills in bioengineering, leadership, entrepreneurship, and coding. At her school in her technology class, she has been learning SQL, HTML, JavaScript and, most recently, C++. Also, she is part of her school’s Robotics Club being part of team 2252 X as a mechanic and strategist. As a team, they have participated in many competitions including the Latin-American competition and received a Design Award in their first year. She also co-founded and is treasurer of the Pink Dot Club, a club developed to raise awareness about organ donation. She also is a part of the directive of the entrepreneurship club at her school as the Education Lead. Apart from science and technology, she is interested in music and language. She has been learning to play the transverse flute at her school. She has also taken classes on languages such as Mandarin, French and Italian. She has also been part of the Girl Scouts for over ten years. She is currently a Senior, and she develops her creativity and leadership skills working on different projects. Currently, she is working on her Gold Medal Award service project which she intends to be about promoting computational thinking in children. In 2018, she was a mentor at the Aspire IT program HelloGirlPR where she taught other girls about coding. In the summer of 2019, she lead the same program and developed her skills in proyect development and budget management. In 2017, she was elected to be the president of the National Junior Honor Society of Puerto Rico. Now she is a part of the National Honor Society and is part of its Insular Level Staff as part of its Communications Committee. In the future, she is interested in having a career related to bioengineering or pathology.
