Annie is a December 2019 early completer of her Honors Diploma at Munster High School in Indiana (class of 2020). She will be entering Stanford University in fall 2020 as a class of 2024 majoring in electrical engineering and artificial intelligence. Annie embraces the applications of computing, and she utilizes computing in her STEM research. She has received awards and accolades for her research including selection as a 2020 Regeneron STS (Science Talent Search) Finalist for her bioinformatic cancer research with an artificial intelligence deep learning component. She is a 2020 Coca-Cola Scholar for her outreach and leadership work as well as a 2020 U.S. Presidential Scholar Semifinalist. In 2019, Annie was selected by the Governor’s Office in the State of Indiana as the top “science” student in the State on the Governor’s STEM team. Annie utilized her computing skills to design two energy-saving inventions that have received national recognition, two provisional patents, and selection as a 2018 Forbes 30 Under 30 in the Energy and Youngest categories. She was selected in 2018 by Best Schools as one of the “World’s 50 Smartest Teens”, the top Samueli Award winner at the 2015 national middle school Broadcom MASTERS competition, an Intel ISEF 2017 Finalist, and a seven-time 1st place Indiana State Science Fair winner. Annie’s was invited to the White House in 2014 to meet Former President Obama as a Broadcom MASTERS Finalist, and she met him a second time in 2016 as a White House Science Fair participant. She has been a “Rock Star” guest speaker twice at the Computer History Museum’s Design-Code-Build programs in Silicon Valley to inspire and lead other students into computing and science. Annie interned at Arrow Electronics, a Fortune 109/500 company, as an Engineering Solutions Center (ESC) Intern where she worked on multiple Artificial Intelligence and Object Detection projects. She intends to continue creating innovations while pursuing both an electrical engineering major in college with a focus in Artificial Intelligence. She plans to complete an MBA and a doctorate degree in the future.
