Anagha is currently a junior at Westview High School in Portland, Oregon. She first explored the wide variety of applications in technology when she experimented with wearable technology and LilyPad Arduino to create a basic prototype for a smart medical bracelet. This experience fostered an ongoing curiosity to understand the increasing role of computing and technology in society, by learning more about computer science. Anagha has been involved with the Girls Who Code chapter at her school and has also recently co-founded a club for students to develop collaborative skills in programming, to volunteer in the community by introducing the world of technology to younger students, and to have a support system of fellow students, tech teachers, and tech professionals. By starting this club, she hopes that she can encourage historically underrepresented students in STEM to consider a future in technology, just as she was encouraged by the classes before her. Anagha has a passion for learning new coding languages, including Java, JavaScript, Python, and C#. She also enjoys finding new ways to create new things with TinkerCad, Adobe Illustrator and Unity. She is looking to pursue a career in STEM, particularly one in which she is able to combine her love for biology and her love for computer science.
