Alice is a senior at Basis Independent Silicon Valley in San Jose, CA. She first realized her interest in computer science through making a simple Periodic Table applet using Swift. Since then, she has taken AP Computer Science A and self-learned C and Python for data science through the bioinformatics projects she has worked on. Over the past summer, she attended the Simons Summer Research Program and worked on a project analyzing sequence and structure level features of RNA contributing to long-read nanopore-based sequencing limitations. Ultimately, Alice aspires to major in computer science and pursue a career as a machine learning engineer. In her free time, Alice enjoys kickboxing (and has found a kickboxing and self defense program for kids!) and playing tabletop games.
