Adelle is a 2019 US Presidential Scholar candidate the most prestigious and one of the Nation's highest honors for high school students, she is one of the few from Pennsylvania and one of the 4 from North Allegheny Senior High(NASH). She is a National Semi-Finalist for the 2019 Elk Foundation Most Valuable Student Award from Pennsylvania. Adelle is a 3 times summer research scholar at CoSBBI, UPMC Hillman Cancer Center Academy (formally UPCI) program performing advanced research leveraging Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP) and deep learning. She won the 1st place in PA and 3rd place in 2018 National Junior Science Award for her graduate-level NLP, Machine Learning research project. She has been interested in STEM since elementary school, where she developed her love for robotics and programming. Adelle was an active participant of CMU's tech night program for girls and a junior member of Girls of Steel Robotics during her middle school years. She is a participant and now a mentor for University of Pittsburgh High School Summer Academy. She has participated in the Pittsburgh Regional Science and Engineering Fair (PRSEF) since 6th grade, receiving numerous category and sponsor awards, and the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (PJAS) since 7th grade, qualifying to states multiple times and earning two perfect score awards. Through her participation in science fairs, she has gained experience in many STEM areas including robotics, app development, 3D printing, and machine learning, and she is passionate about sharing her knowledge of computer science to inspire other girls. Adelle is an avid public speaker, serves as the Vice President of North Allegheny Speech Team helping peers and underclassmen to improve in speech event interpretation of literature. She is a nationally ranked member of National Speech and Debate, Academic All American awardee and is Student Council publicity director for several years, Cabinet Head of NASH Principal Advisory Committee, NATV lead Anchor, and Film producer for Crisis Center North which is a non-profit organization. Her hobbies include golfing, playing the piano, creating films and DIY-ing. After graduating, Adelle intent to major in computer science and applying Artificial intelligence to film production. She is grateful for Western, Central PA and West Virginia NCWIT organization and will continue to be part of the NCWIT community helping the girls dream come true to become women Entrepreneurs in technology.
