Srija's interest in coding began in middle school, where she completed a project about the speed of number sorting algorithms and placed in the county festival. Ever since, she has developed her Python and Java skills by learning algorithms and solving competition problems. She participated in several competitions and hackathons, and started a Girls Who Code club at her school after discovering the lack of coding opportunities for females at her school. Her club members are currently developing their own apps using App Inventor to improve the community. She was also selected to be an intern at APL and is currently helping to develop Android data collection apps that will be deployed on submarines.
