Aashia is a junior at Los Altos High School and the current lead organizer of the Los Altos Hacks 2017 hackathon. She won the .club prize, Rubicon prize, and Best Social Award at HackingEdu, a collegiate hackathon, for developing a web application that offers high schoolers personalized guidance to get into their desired colleges. Furthermore, she was a mobile app development intern alongside Stanford CURIS and performed user tests on app-based block programming to develop her own research paper. For her Girl Scout Gold Award, she focused on the root cause of the lack of opportunities for senior citizens in her community and created technology courses at the Mountain View Senior Center. Outside of computer science, she is part of her city's Youth Advisory Committee and part of the Los Altos High School diving team. She wishes to pursue a degree in computer science and study artificial intelligence.
