This is my 24th year of teaching in Alabama public high schools. I've taught technology for 13 of those 24 years. I currently teach Advanced Placement Computer Science Principles and AP Computer Science A to juniors and seniors. I also teach Computer Programming in Java and Software Development to all grade levels. I am a member of CSTA and a Cohort 3 member of APCSP Alabama. I have served as a technology coordinator for 3 different schools. I teach AP Computer Science Principles to high school students at The University of Alabama through their ACCESS program. I serve as an AP College Board CSP Reader and Teacher Mentor. Our program won the 2018 Female Diversity Award from AP College Board. I received the Northern Alabama NCWIT Educator of the Year Award that year as well. Our Girls Who Code club is in its second year. 6 of my students were awarded NCWIT awards last year.
