Anjali is a senior in high school who is passionate about STEM fields. She has experience in coding with different languages and software like Java, Python, HTML, Visual Basic, and Scratch and likes to experiment with them. In seventh grade, she co-founded a girls tech club called She ++ Juniors at her middle school, Stratford Middle School in Santa Clara, California, where young women are encouraged to discover new areas and to participate in various competitions and challenges. The same year, she was a member of the co-ed tech club at her middle school. As part of that group, she helped launch a HAB (High-altitude weather balloon) to near-space and successfully tracked and retrieved it. This passion continued into the eighth grade where she took on more of a leadership role as she helped guide the members of both clubs through another exciting year filled with competitions and challenges like the Verizon App Challenge, Tech Challenge, and another balloon launch. Anjali loves to explore the different aspects of the field and is the Co-Captain and Director of Manufacturing for her Robotics team at Presentation High School, which competes in FIRST (FRC) Challenges. In 2017, she led her team to a Regional Win which qualified them to attend World Championships in Houston. She helps ensure that the parts that have been designed in CAD are machined using a CNC mill, CNC router, and an NC lathe. These are assembled to create a fully-functioning 120-pound robot. In 2018, she won the FIRST Dean's List Finalist Award. Anjali is also the Meeting Director for her school's Women in Computer Science club in which she strives to promote women involvement in computer science and STEM. She aspires to graduate high school to pursue higher education in engineering.
