Kaili is a senior at Harpeth Hall School in Nashville, TN. After she fell in love with computing through her AP Computer Science class in 9th grade, she used that knowledge to code a virtual reality environment in Dr. Bodenheimer's lab at Vanderbilt, and she then conducted an experiment with 15 human subjects to observe the perception of self-motion in VR. In her junior year, she conducted research in the Vanderbilt MED Lab, where she used CAD software to design, 3D print, and patent an endoscope tip with a larger working channel. This year, she is programming the user interface through MATLAB for image-guided surgery via the da Vinci robot. Kaili looks forward to pursuing computer science in college next year.
