Angela is a senior attending the IB program at Richard Montgomery High School. She has been involved in the Rockville Montgomery Robotics Association since her freshman year, competing in the FIRST Tech Challenge at all levels. She has also interned at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, working on virtual reality, app development, and image processing projects that have further inspired her passion for computer science and engineering. As the co-founder of the TeenHub coding program, Angela hopes to encourage more girls to develop an interest in computer science, and she has developed a curriculum to teach many young girls how to code. As a leader of her school's Kids Are Scientists Too! club, she enjoys developing STEM lessons and teaching them to young students. Angela is also the Director of Financial Affairs of Innovation Stations, an initiative seeking to establish makerspaces around the community. Angela strives to cultivate a greater interest in STEM within her community and make STEM opportunities more accessible for people of all backgrounds. She is extremely grateful to have been named as a National Honorable Mention recipient and Maryland Affiliate Winner and hopes to make a difference to the world through her passion for computer science.
