Joy is currently a junior attending Harmony Science Academy of El Paso where she is a dedicated , hardworking, and persistent student who loves computing. She is a highly accomplished student by being in the top ten percent of her graduating class, completing 6 AP courses throughout her high school years as well as Onramps and PLTW courses, which allows her to be more exposed to the mathematical and computational concept of Computer Science. Joy was also accepted in NASA's High School Aerospace Scholars, Junior Leadership of El Paso, and is a proud Excellence Award awardee and 2020 delegate of the Congress of Future Medical Leaders.She is part of her school's Girls Cyberstart, CRLP, VEX Robotics team, and competed in Nasa's App Development challenge where she learned how to program in C#. She is currently captain of her robotics team where her team has won various awards allowing them to qualify for the Texas State Regional Competition and the 2020 US CREATE WORLD Robotics Championship. There, she serves as the teams co-programmer , builder, and notebook keeper. Joy has dabbled in a variety of programming lanugages and software such as Python, Java, JavaScript, HTML, AutoCAD, Unity, and Autodesk Inventor. Joy aspires to attend the Carnegie Mellon University where she will major in Computer engineering and also Aeronautical engineering.
