Caroline is a sophomore at Whitefish Bay High School. She is a member of several clubs and extra curricular activities including Model UN, French Club, Robotics, Bay Gives Back, and selected to serve on the Principal's Advisory Committee for her high school. Caroline is the founder and captain of her high school robotics FTC team and leads a 6 member group which includes mechanical, coding, outreach and fundraising. Her team will be competing in local and regional competitions this year. Her passion for computers and technology continues through her mentorship with First LEGO League teams at her local elementary school. Caroline spent 17 days in Costa Rica over the summer volunteering at a local village helping to build homes and teach English in local schools. This was an amazing experience and inspired her to research STEM education in disadvantaged countries and seek out ways to get more involved. Caroline has earned the Gold Presidential Volunteer Service Award for serving her community and dedicating her time towards helping disadvantaged youth. She has also spent several weeks volunteering for Girls Who Code summer camp at Discovery World. Caroline is currently taking an AP Computer Science course and plans to continue with AP JAVA the following year. In addition, she is planning to take computer and biomolecular engineering summer courses at MSOE. She has maintained high honor roll and has earned the NCWIT honorary award. Outside of STEM she skates nationally on a competitive figure skating synchronized team, ice dances and competes in free style. She is also on the JV tennis team.
