Vivian is a senior at Milpitas High School. She is an active member of her school’s Science Olympiad Team, where she placed in multiple events at the regional and state level. Last summer, she attended the Girls Who Code summer program and had the opportunity to create a platform that raises awareness about a relevant issue: the immigration crisis in America. Despite the fact that her high school doesn’t offer AP Computer Science classes, she persisted to take classes such as Python and Web Development at her local community college. She in interested in pursuing computer science, particularly front-end development. She seeks to find ways to merge the technical side of coding with the more visual aspects of technology and design. She is also passionate about the community and is involved as a journalist for Milpitas High’s newspaper, The Union and the President of the Milpitas High TEDx Club.
