Megan Wallman is currently in her junior year at Syracuse High School. She is very involved in her school and community. Her activities include Future Business Leaders of America, National Honor Society, Students of Service, Dollars for Scholars Board, Student Council, Youth Church Council Representative, 4-H, Junior American Legion Auxiliary, Band, Color Guard, Book Club, Class Officer, Church Youth Group, Volleyball, and Basketball. She has always planned a future in the medical field. However, over the past few years she has developed a love for FBLA, business and IT classes and IT projects. Currently she is deciding if she will major in the medical field and minor in business and/or information technology. Or potentially major in business and information technology. She plans to choose a college or university that offers each of these degrees. Qualifying for the National FBLA conference in the Mobile Application event is considered her greatest technical accomplishment. She created a mobile application that was used to check out books for a school library, along with a few other features. She had no experience in coding, so started doing research and taught her herself how to code in java script. She then taught her project partner how to code and together they started designing and coding their own application. The project placed second at the State FBLA Conference. This qualified them to represent Nebraska at the national FBLA conference in Baltimore, Maryland. They did not place at the national level, but learned a lot about coding and how to make improvements for the future years. One of her other technical accomplishments is in website design. She created a website for the local National History Day Competition covering the fight for women's rights throughout history. Her team of two placed second and qualified for the state competition. She has taken two Information Technology classes already, she is excited for the opportunity to take a programming class this year.
