Aarthi Koripelly is currently a senior at Barrington High School. She is passionate about computer science, coding, and math. In the past, her engineering notebook for FIRST Robotics has placed top 12 in the world. She enjoys being part of her robotics team and is a Co-Captain this year where she helps oversee building, electronics, and the engineering notebook. She is also a board member in G1rl C0de, a club at her high school that encourages girls interested in STEM by facilitating field trips to Chicago downtown to visit companies and tech firms, teaching girls how to code using Java, and inviting speakers to come in. She also competes in biology and mathematics in WYSE, a competition hosted by University of Illinois at Urbana, where she placed 3rd regionally in biology. This past summer she interned at the Adler Planetarium as Citizen Science Ambassador where she analyzed astronomical data regarding galaxy movement and developed her passion in computer science and math by meeting renowned researchers and astronomers and modeling data for them. In the future, she is interested in pursuing computer science as her major. She is planning on attending a four-year university for her bachelors degree. In college, Aarthi would like to expand her learning experience with software engineering projects and research opportunities regarding mathematics and computer science. She hopes to use computer science for social good.
