Xiomara is a hard working advanced technology and biomedical student, who has high aspirations for her future. Xiomara was a co-president for an all-girls technology club called Girls Opting for Information Technology (GO4IT). As leader of GO4IT, she has mentored various young ladies to pursue technology-related activities. In fact, she and her co-president designed activities for a Scratch Day, which included personally designed certificates for the event and organizing the programming activities with Scratch. Xiomara has earned eight industry certifications in Microsoft Office. She is most proud of becoming a Microsoft Office Master. Xiomara has also taken a CompTIA A+ course, where she learned about hardware and operating systems. As well as completing a CompTIA Network+ course, in which she studied how computers work in a network and has received a Microsoft Technology Associate: Networking Fundamentals credential. Xiomara is currently enrolled in an advanced technology academy where she is learning security. Here she will learn the CompTIA Security+ curriculum which includes how to secure a network. Outside of technology, Xiomara is part of the biomedical program at her high school. As a member of the biomedical program, she has joined Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA). In HOSA, she is learning how to utilize medical measurements to investigate health issues with individuals. Also, last year Xiomara helped to found a chapter of Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE Jr.) at her high school. This year she became the treasurer for the club. SHPE Jr. connects with a local university chapter to help all students to get into STEM programs so they can reach their fullest potential.
