Sarah is a junior in the STEM program at North County High School. During her freshman year, she discovered her love for computer science. Since then, she has learned several programming languages and has participated in many hackathons. Her greatest technical accomplishment is creating an analysis system that detects a hacker's presence within a network and alerts the user at the Technica 2018 hackathon. Her group was judged and selected as winners by Qualtrics. Through the skills and experience she gained in competitions such as Technica, Technology Students Association, and American Computer Science League, Sarah has become very competent in developing algorithms, abstractions, and astute problem-solving. Although she has won many awards and become one of the top Computer Science students at her school, she believes she still has a long way to go, and is determined to reach her goal of becoming an influential and inventive computer scientist and engineer. Sarah thinks she can truly call herself successful when she sees her work helping others in a way that enhances their lives and invigorates their creativity and inventiveness.
