Angela is a Junior from California who has found a new love of technology and coding over the last year and a half. During the summer between her Sophomore and Junior year, Angela was lucky enough to attend the Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program in San Francisco. During this program she and a group of other girls created a website called Civitas whose goal is to empower citizens through knowledge. Civitas allows in simple and understandable language a guide to state Senators and their key beliefs, and it also provided voting laws within each state. During her Sophomore year, Angela realized the desperate need for girls to get involved in tech, and because of this, Angela became crucial to the creation and establishment of a Girls Who Code Club at her school. In her free time she is involved with many other activities and clubs including conservation of the environment, peace and justice in the world, politics, and music. She hopes that in the future she will be able to combine her love of service with technology.
