Family: I am married to my High School sweetheart, Mike Shaw. We live in Conway, AR. Together we have three children. Our twins, Lexie and Cole, and our youngest, Emmalee. Lexie is a recent graduate of the University of Central Arkansas where she was a Graphic Art Major. Cole is an Electrician, and has two young sons, Easton (3) and Weston (2). Emmalee is a Radiography major at the University of Central Arkansas, she is currently completing her residency at CHI St. Vincent in Little Rock. Education: I graduated from UCA in 2015 with a Master of Arts in Teaching, where I also obtained a Bachelors in Business Administration in 2001. I am currently pursuing my Masters in Applied Computing from the University of Central Arkansas. Background: For the past five years, I have worked as an instructor with Virtual Arkansas where I have taught Computer Science to over 200 school districts and had the privilege to teach thousands of students across the state of Arkansas. Prior to this, I worked as a business professional in the private sector for over twenty years. I managed 250 employees, developed financial plans, budgeted for the fiscal year, created strategic plans, and was directly in charge of overseeing day-to-day operations, marketing, customer service and public relations. I realized that my true passion in life was to teach. I began working toward this goal in 2014. My goal each day is to be an inspiration to others and make a difference in a student's life each day. My favorite quote is by Vince Lombardi, "Practice does not make perfect, only perfect practice makes perfect." I like to use this in my classes. It is great when teaching students about Computer Science. This subject is new and different to many students. But, with hard work, determination, and perfect practice, anyone can do it! I am living proof of that!
