Alexis is a dedicated student who has won awards for highest average in English 1 Honors, English 2 Honors, Geometry Honors, Algebra 2 Honors, Advanced Math Plus, Biology 1 Honors, World History Honors, Spanish 2, and Theatre. She is ranked first in her class at school, has earned a perfect score on the ACT, and is a National Merit Semfinalist. She is involved in several clubs at school, and serves as the president of Mu Alpha Theta, secretary of Student Council, president of the Women in STEM Club, and president of the Mayor's Youth Council. She is also an active member of National Honor Society, Quiz Bowl, and Mock Trial. Her Quiz Bowl team placed first in their regional competition and fourth at the University of Mississippi Academic Invitational Tournament to advance to the NAQT national competition . She also won awards at the state and regional level for Best Witness for Mock Trial, and her team placed fifth in the state. Alexis has also been a delegate at the Congress of Future Medical Leaders, where she furthered her knowledge of science and medicine. Over the summer, Alexis also volunteered at the Institute of Marine Mammal Studies. Through this volunteer work, Alexis was able to witness the impact of marine life and how research can be beneficial to the world. In the future, Alexis would like to attend college to study neuroscience and biomedical science. She would like to be involved in as much research as possible, and she would like to eventually become a neurologist.
