Winners of the NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing are eligible for a $1,000 scholarship from the School of Computing and Engineering at the University of Missouri – Kansas City if the winner is accepted to the University and majors in Computer Science or Information Technology 
 
Qualifying Criteria: 
  • First -time entering freshman accepted and admitted to a UMKC SCE degree program in Computer Science or Information Technology. 
  • Must maintain full-time (minimum 12 credit hours per semester) enrollment throughout academic year of award 
  • NCWIT Aspiration Award recipients must show proof of award recognition. 
  • Minimum 3.00 high school GPA

Submit completed UMKC SCE General Scholarship Application and Statement of Support Essay with Proof of NCWIT Aspiration Award before deadline to:

Statement of Support Essay: For consideration for additional SCE scholarships, please submit a brief essay in support of this application explaining your goals and highlighting personal qualities which emphasize why you should be considered over all other qualified applicants. 
 
This award cannot be combined with a PLTW or FIRST Robotics Scholarship. While these awards cannot be combined, these awards can be combined with other UMKC Awards.
