Encode Justice (encodejustice.org) is a global, youth-led organization fighting for civil rights in the age of artificial intelligence through policy, advocacy, research, content creation, and education. We champion ethical AI, with a special focus on racial justice and tackling bias in technology. Our community of high school and undergraduate students spans 30+ U.S. states and 20+ countries, and is divided between the central division of our organization and our network of state and country chapters. The central division is primarily comprised of unpaid fellows, who are assigned to either policy (which drafts original policy proposals and research reports on relevant issues in AI ethics), advocacy (which organizes events like phone banks and lobbies lawmakers at every level of government), or education (which develops lesson plans and teaches workshops as part of our AI ethics workshop program for high school students). Additional benefits associated with the fellowship include professional development opportunities, invitations to internal talks with expert speakers, and access to skill-based trainings on topics like opinion writing, resume building, lobbying, and social media marketing. Apply to join our fellowship program (open on a rolling basis) at tinyurl.com/EJFellowship today!
