Be You, Inc. is a 501c3 non profit with the mission of empowering youth to positively impact their communities through technology and innovation. We currently run three out-of-school programs in Howard County Maryland. The first is Girls Who Code Howard County, which is for middle and high school girls and offers coding instruction in Scratch, Python, JScript & web/app development. be.a.coder: GAME_LAB is a coed club for middle and high school girls and boys offering game design & development instruction in Unity and Blender technologies.

As a recipient of the NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing, the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is offering you a $2,000 scholarship upon your direct admission to the Computer Science or Computer Engineering major. The scholarship is renewable based on your UWM GPA in subsequent years. To qualify for direct admission, you must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, and you have earned an ACT composite score of at least 25 and an ACT math score of at least 28.

The AspireIT Program is extremely important in helping to bridge the computing gap among girls. Our organization, through Tech Sassy Girlz seeks to inspire more girls to pursue computing and technology as a career. The Tech Sassy Girlz Code Summer Camp is a one-week summer camp for girls in middle and high school. -Students will learn the basics of coding in a team-based environment -Students will learn the basics of designing and building an app -Students will develop a project piece to present at the end of camp Camp is held Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
