Missouri: Eastern Missouri & Southern Illinois

Above photo shows the 2016 St. Louis Winners and Runner Up Awardees.

The St. Louis & Southern Illinois Community is proud to host the St. Louis Award for Aspirations in Computing. Award recipients are selected for their aptitude and interest in IT and computing, solid leadership ability, good academic history, and plans for post-secondary education. We encourage women in grades 9-12 to apply. All applications are reviewed by national reviewers and a local selection committee to determine which applicants are winners and which are runners-up.

We are excited to announce that the 2017 Aspirations Award ceremony will be held
Sunday, March 26th on campus at Saint Louis University.

Congratulations to our 2017 St. Louis & Southern Illinois Aspirations Award Recipients:

History of St. Louis and Southern Illinois Affiliate: In 2013, St. Louis students were invited to compete in the Missouri/Kansas Regional Award for Aspirations. The 2013 event was held at UMKC in Kansas City. In 2014, local St. Louis residents decided to host our own St. Louis event. The Inaugural St. Louis Award for Aspirations ceremony was held on the afternoon of Saturday, March 8th, 2014 (International Women's Day) at the University of Missouri-St. Louis campus in the Millennium Center from 1-4pm. The University of Missouri - St. Louis offered a $1,000 scholarship to any of the winners who decide to attend UMSL and select Information Systems as their major! This is a generous and wonderful offer from UMSL and we are thrilled to offer it to the winners of this year's award!

Monsanto, UMSL, Thomson Reuters, Spry Digital served as the 2014 sponsors for this event. The Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri, Centric Group, and Mastercard provided support for the 2014 event, too. We offer a special thanks to these inaugural sponsors! Without them, this award ceremony would not be possible!
